The Social Worker / SEAH Officer will play a critical role in supporting community engagement activities and social safeguard initiatives in Tanga, Tanzania. This position focuses on the prevention and response to Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (SEAH), ensuring that all community interactions and project implementations adhere to the highest standards of safety and ethics. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting awareness campaigns, managing grievance redress mechanisms, and liaising with various stakeholders to foster a safe environment for all participants.

Beyond administrative duties, the officer will handle sensitive complaints and referrals while maintaining strict confidentiality. This role requires a professional who is not only skilled in social work and sociology but also possesses the interpersonal sensitivity needed to work with vulnerable populations. By preparing detailed reports and documenting activities, the SEAH Officer ensures transparency and continuous improvement in the organization’s safeguarding protocols. Key Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Community Development, Psychology, or Gender Studies. Minimum of three (3) years of relevant working experience in social work or safeguarding. Experience in gender-based violence (GBV) or SEAH-related programs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in community engagement and stakeholder management. Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and maintain confidential information. Proficiency in both English and Swahili languages. Knowledge of local laws and international standards regarding social safeguards. Ability to work effectively with diverse community groups and local authorities. Strong ethical standards and commitment to professional confidentiality.
