SWAHILI (TANZANIAN) TO ENGLISH CONSECUTIVE COURT INTERPRETER (2 POSITIONS) @ GLOBAL CREATIVE TRANSLATION
Global Creative Translation is seeking two highly experienced Swahili (Tanzanian) to English consecutive court interpreters for a significant legal assignment. This crucial role involves facilitating communication in high-stakes court proceedings, ensuring accuracy and clarity between Swahili and English speakers. The assignment is scheduled for October 2026, with exact dates to be confirmed, and will span approximately five working days, with daily working hours from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, including scheduled breaks.
The selected interpreters will operate from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, working directly with witnesses on the ground. Simultaneously, they will participate remotely in court proceedings taking place in London, bridging geographical distances to ensure seamless legal communication. This collaborative effort will involve two interpreters working as a team, alternating throughout the proceedings to maintain optimal interpreting quality and reduce fatigue, thereby upholding the integrity of the legal process.

Key Requirements
Proven experience in court or legal interpreting is highly desirable.
Exceptional fluency in both Swahili (Tanzanian dialect) and English.
Demonstrated proficiency in consecutive interpretation techniques.
Strong understanding of legal terminology and court protocols.
Ability to maintain accuracy and impartiality in high-pressure environments.
Excellent listening, comprehension, and verbal communication skills.
Reliable access to a stable internet connection and suitable remote work setup for participating in London-based proceedings.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, working effectively with a co-interpreter.
High level of professionalism and adherence to interpreter ethics.
