OPERATIONS MANAGER @ GCAS
Our client is looking for a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground Operations Manager with a strong operational focus and commercial flair for their Dar es Salaam location. This is a fast-paced role for a leader who drives performance, efficiency, and team accountability directly from the warehouse floor. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing warehouse operations including offloading, picking, packing, and dispatch while leading and developing on-site teams. Performance metrics focus on 24-hour offloading targets, 100% accuracy, and maintaining high HSE compliance standards. Salary for this position is negotiable.
The role involves tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), productivity, equipment uptime, and operational expenditures (OPEX) to ensure cost control and efficiency. You will collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and Logistics departments to maintain high service levels and accuracy. A key part of the responsibility includes ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and standard operating procedures (SOP). The candidate must apply commercial thinking to optimize costs and drive continuous improvement across all operational facets to ensure client satisfaction and strong team morale.

Key Requirements
A recognized qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
A minimum of 5 years' experience in operations or warehouse management.
Proven hands-on leadership experience with a focus on team development.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and operational reporting.
Demonstrated ability to manage KPIs, large teams, and departmental budgets.
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to optimize operational costs.
Experience overseeing offloading, picking, packing, and dispatch cycles.
In-depth knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) compliance.
Proven track record of driving efficiency and continuous improvement.
Ability to collaborate effectively with HR, Finance, and Logistics teams.
