OPERATIONS MANAGER @ GCAS
gcas is seeking a high-energy, hands-on Operations Manager to serve as a Ground Zero Leader in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This role is designed for a powerhouse professional who thrives on the warehouse floor rather than behind a desk, taking full ownership of end-to-end warehouse flows including offloading, picking, packing, and dispatch. You will be responsible for driving efficiency, identifying bottlenecks, and energizing your team to meet demanding operational targets.
Beyond floor management, the Operations Manager will oversee key performance indicators (KPIs), maintain strict HSE and quality compliance, and manage equipment uptime and operational expenditures. You will partner closely with HR, Finance, and Logistics departments to ensure the business machine runs smoothly and commercially. Success in this role is defined by 100% accuracy in dispatch, 24-hour offloading turnarounds, and maintaining high morale across a loyal and productive workforce.

Key Requirements
A recognized qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations Management.
At least 5 years of professional experience in warehouse or operations management.
Proven experience in on-the-floor leadership with a hands-on management style.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data reporting for operational analysis.
Demonstrated ability to own and manage budgets, KPIs, and people performance.
Sharp commercial thinking with the ability to instantly see profit and loss impacts.
In-depth knowledge of HSE, quality standards, and SOP compliance protocols.
Experience in managing high-volume offloading, picking, packing, and dispatch workflows.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with HR, Finance, and Logistics partners.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve complex problems in a chaotic environment.
