PROJECT MANAGER-ROAD CONSTRUCTION @ GBCS
The Project Manager for Road Construction will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, and monitoring of high-quality road and bridge construction projects in Tanzania. This leadership role requires a strategic approach to managing project lifecycles, ensuring that all engineering standards are met while maintaining strict adherence to timelines and budget constraints. The manager will serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and must ensure that all project outcomes align with organizational goals.
In addition to operational oversight, the candidate will be tasked with risk assessment, quality control, and resource management. This includes leading multidisciplinary teams of engineers and contractors, fostering a culture of safety and excellence on-site. The successful candidate will use their expertise to evaluate project performance, implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks, and ensure that every bridge and road constructed contributes to the infrastructure development of the region.

Key Requirements
Holding a Bachelor degree in civil or highway engineering
Must be a registered engineer with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB)
Proven minimum of five (5) years experience in managing roads and bridges construction projects
Proficiency in project management, monitoring and evaluation
Strong leadership skills to manage large construction teams and subcontractors
Expertise in construction software such as AutoCAD or MS Project
Advanced knowledge of road construction materials and structural engineering standards
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder reporting
Ability to perform detailed risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
Deep understanding of Tanzanian engineering regulations and safety protocols
