DATA ANALYTICS INTERN @ FINCA MICROFINANCE BANK
FINCA Microfinance Bank is seeking a motivated Data Analytics Intern to join their Data Analytics Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing comprehensive reports and working closely with various departmental stakeholders to understand and accelerate business reporting requirements. This role involves utilizing tools such as Oracle, SQL, and MS Excel to provide high-quality data analysis and support across the organization. The intern will play a key role in ensuring data availability and integrity while assisting in the development of business-critical insights. The intern will also handle specialized reporting tasks including monthly data uploads to the Bank of Tanzania (BOT) for Credit Reference and RTSIS, managing CRB client report disputes, and assisting with IFRS and FSDR reporting. Key duties include creating crystal reports, documenting business requirements, and developing data layouts like charts, graphs, and process flow diagrams. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in financial data management and business intelligence within a reputable microfinance institution.
Key Requirements
A Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience working with database management systems such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
Proficiency in writing SQL scripts to directly query and analyze internal and external data.
Strong skills in MS Excel for high-quality data analysis and reporting.
Ability to support the preparation of analytic dashboards and KPI reports in BI tools.
Basic programming skills in languages like Python, R, or Alteryx for data manipulation.
Excellent communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
Capacity to maintain strict confidentiality of all records and system documents.
Ability to provide technical advice and support in problem-solving related to systems.
Understanding of data security, integrity controls, and disaster recovery procedures.
