COUNTRY DIRECTOR @ FEED THE CHILDREN
Feed the Children is seeking a dynamic and strategic Country Director to lead its operations in Tanzania. This senior leadership role is responsible for providing overall direction, operational oversight, and strategic management to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based programming. As the senior in-country representative, the Country Director will drive program excellence, expand strategic partnerships, ensure organizational compliance, and strengthen the overall presence and influence of Feed the Children within the Tanzanian development landscape.
The role involves overseeing a diverse multi-sectoral portfolio that includes education, school feeding programs, livelihoods, nutrition, WASH, and community development. Key responsibilities include leading resource mobilization efforts, engaging with government bodies and international donors, and managing financial controls and operational risks. The successful candidate will foster a high-performing, inclusive culture, leading recruitment and staff development while ensuring that safeguarding and gender equity are integrated into all organizational activities to achieve sustainable impact across the region.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
8–10+ years of senior leadership experience in NGOs or INGOs.
Proven success managing multi-sector development programs in complex environments.
Strong expertise in MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) systems.
Experience managing donor-funded portfolios, audits, and multi-source budgets.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with government and development partners.
Deep understanding of safeguarding, accountability, and community development principles.
Proficiency in strategic leadership and program quality impact management.
Demonstrated ability in financial stewardship and adaptive systems thinking.
Expertise in change leadership and data-driven decision making.
Commitment to integrity, ethics, and child protection frameworks.
Experience in workforce planning and staff development within an international context.
