CHIEF ACCOUNTANT @ EXPERT CONSULTANCY
Expert Consultancy is currently searching for a qualified and interested candidate for the position of Chief Accountant on behalf of our client operating in the Energy Sector. This role is a full-time position based at the client's office in Dar Es Salaam. The Chief Accountant will be responsible for performing critical financial analysis and providing regular reports to the management team. The position offers a gross salary of TZS 7,000,000 per month, with additional benefits to be discussed during the interview process. The role reports directly to the Finance Manager and has a projected start date of May 1st, 2026.
Candidates will be expected to manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including the performance of month-end accounting activities and the preparation of journal entries. You will coordinate with the wider finance team to ensure all assigned accounting tasks are completed accurately and within specified deadlines. Key Requirements
Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-T) or have an equivalent professional qualification registered with NBAA.
A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in senior accounting or financial management roles.
Demonstrated experience working within the Energy or Utilities sector is highly preferred.
In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Accounting Standards (IAS).
Strong understanding of Tanzania tax laws, including VAT, PAYE, and Corporate Tax regulations.
Proficiency in using advanced accounting software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for complex financial modeling and data analysis.
Proven ability to manage month-end and year-end closing processes accurately and timely.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to report effectively to senior management.
