A reputable company in the Transport, Logistics & Supply Chain industry is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant based in Morogoro, Tanzania. The role involves managing the full cycle of accounting processes, specifically focusing on the logistics and shipping sector to ensure financial transparency and operational efficiency. The professional will be tasked with maintaining meticulous financial records to support the growing needs of the company's regional operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, monitoring cash flow, and ensuring compliance with tax and statutory regulations. This position offers a dynamic environment for a professional with a background in logistics accounting and strong analytical capabilities. The role also includes supporting annual audits and ensuring all financial documentation is organized and up to date according to international standards.
Key Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3-5 years of professional accounting experience.
Prior experience specifically within the logistics or shipping industry.
Professional CPA certification (considered an added advantage).
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex financial data.
Excellent communication skills with fluency in both English and Swahili.
Ability to manage client invoicing and supplier payments accurately.
Knowledge of local tax laws and statutory requirements in Tanzania.
Proven track record in preparing detailed monthly and annual financial reports.
