epicbr is seeking a dedicated Public Health Officer to join their construction team in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The primary focus of this role is to monitor and enforce public health standards across various construction sites, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by conducting routine inspections of sanitation facilities, water systems, and waste management practices to prevent disease outbreaks and maintain site integrity.
Key duties involve identifying potential public health risks and implementing effective preventive or corrective measures. The officer will oversee the cleanliness and hygiene of worker accommodations, canteens, and toilets while ensuring proper environmental hygiene practices are followed at all times. Additionally, the role involves developing and delivering comprehensive health and hygiene awareness training programs for site personnel to promote a culture of safety and compliance within the project scope, ensuring that all workers are informed about proper health protocols.

Key Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, or related field.
5+ years' experience in public health, preferably in construction or related environments.
Strong knowledge of public health regulations, sanitation & hygiene standards.
Experience in site inspections, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
Ability to develop and deliver health and hygiene training programs.
High level of attention to detail and commitment to safety & compliance.
Excellent communication skills for delivering technical health information to workers.
Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced construction site environment.
Proficiency in identifying environmental hazards and proposing corrective actions.
Strong organizational skills to manage documentation related to inspections and compliance.
