LABORATORY ASSISTANT @ EPHA HOSPITAL
EPHA Hospital is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Assistant to join our healthcare team in Tunduma, Songwe. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. You will work under the supervision of senior laboratory staff to ensure that all clinical laboratory activities are conducted with the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency, maintaining a sterile environment and following all safety protocols.
The role involves collecting and processing biological samples, preparing chemical solutions, and maintaining laboratory equipment. You will also be expected to record and report test results accurately into the hospital information system. Key Requirements
Diploma or Certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution
Valid registration and practicing license from the relevant Professional Board
Proven experience in collecting and processing biological specimens
Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and waste management
Ability to operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Proficiency in basic computer applications for data entry
Willingness to work in a shift-based environment including weekends
