SENIOR ACCOUNTANT @ EAGM TANZANIA
EAGM Tanzania is seeking a highly motivated and experienced finance professional to independently lead and manage its Finance Department. This pivotal role requires an individual who can oversee all aspects of financial operations, ensuring strategic financial support to the business in a dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a comprehensive range of financial planning, reporting, and management activities. This includes the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, as well as the development and management of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and detailed variance analysis. The role also involves presenting meaningful Management Information System (MIS) reports to provide critical financial insights for strategic decision-making.
Key responsibilities extend to robust financial planning and business performance, such as executing daily banking activities, managing cash flow, and optimizing working capital through effective oversight of receivables, payables, and inventory. The Senior Accountant will drive cost control initiatives, identify opportunities for improved profitability and operational efficiency, and lead weekly finance meetings to review performance against key business metrics.
Taxation, Compliance & Audit are critical components of this role, requiring the timely preparation and filing of various statutory returns including VAT, PAYE, Corporate Tax, and SDL. The individual will coordinate and manage TRA audits and statutory audits, ensuring full compliance with all regulatory requirements. Liaison with external stakeholders such as banks, auditors, and tax consultants is also a vital aspect.
Accounting operations involve overseeing payroll processing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of all financial records. Continuous review and improvement of accounting procedures are expected to enhance operational efficiency.
Furthermore, this position demands strong leadership and team management capabilities. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for mentoring, supervising, and developing junior accounting staff to foster a high-performing finance team. Key Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional accounting qualification such as CPA (T), ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior accounting or finance management role.
Strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax laws, statutory requirements, and financial regulations.
Proven experience handling TRA audits, statutory audits, and regulatory compliance.
Demonstrated expertise in cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and credit control.
Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Excellent analytical, leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Self-motivated, disciplined, and performance-driven with strong time management skills.
Comfortable with technology and quick to adopt new digital tools.
Must be a Tanzanian national.
