GENERAL MANAGER @ DSM PLAYERS
The Dar es Salaam Players Society, Tanzania's premier community theatre organization, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to oversee its operations. This role is pivotal in driving the organization's growth by managing finance, human resources, theatre productions, and event facilities while ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements. The successful candidate will provide operational leadership, implement strategic policies, and foster cultural engagement through the promotion of performing arts.
In this position, you will be responsible for managing the society's financial health, including budgeting, cash flow management, payroll, and statutory compliance. You will also lead HR administration, oversee venue rentals, and coordinate with the Executive Committee to ensure effective governance. Key Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
Minimum 3 years' relevant management/accounting experience.
Strong financial management, taxation and reporting knowledge.
Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
Proficiency in accounting software, specifically ZOHO and Microsoft.
High integrity and attention to detail.
Understanding of Tanzanian statutory compliance (VAT, PAYE, NSSF, etc.).
Proven experience in HR administration and performance management.
Ability to manage venue hires, events, and production budgets effectively.
Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to operational excellence.
