TRANSPORTATION OPERATIONS MANAGER @ DONITO
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Transportation Operations Manager to join our dynamic logistics team in Dar es Salaam. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading and optimizing our transport operations to ensure peak performance and reliability. Your primary focus will include overseeing fleet management, coordinating timely deliveries, and implementing cost-control measures to drive overall operational efficiency across our logistics network. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset and the ability to manage complex day-to-day activities, including dispatch planning and cargo movement between ports, CFS, and inland locations. You will supervise a diverse team of drivers and subcontractors, ensuring that all operations adhere to the highest safety and regulatory standards. By monitoring key performance indicators such as fleet uptime and revenue targets, you will play a crucial role in the growth and success of our logistics environment. This role is office and field-based, requiring coordination with port and yard operations.
Key Requirements
5+ years of experience in transport/logistics operations
Strong knowledge of fleet management
Experience in container transport/port operations preferred
Proficient in MS Excel and reporting
Ability to lead and supervise drivers and subcontractors
Proven track record in managing day-to-day transport operations and dispatch planning
Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards in the logistics industry
Ability to monitor and achieve KPIs related to operational and cost efficiency
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
