OPERATIONS MANAGER @ DHILLON
Dhillon is a fast-growing and reputable dry cargo transport company operating within Tanzania and its neighboring countries. With a current fleet of approximately 100 trucks and ambitious expansion plans on the horizon, the company is seeking a dedicated Operations Manager to oversee its growing logistics network. The role is based in Dar es Salaam and involves leading operational strategy, planning, and KPI management to ensure the business meets its growth targets effectively while maintaining high standards of service.
The successful candidate will be responsible for journey management, route optimization, and providing leadership to both drivers and the operational team. Key focus areas include safety, compliance, asset protection, and maintenance oversight to ensure the fleet remains operational and efficient. Additionally, the role entails fleet tracking, data reporting, risk management, and fostering strong client relationships to facilitate smooth cross-border logistics operations. Key Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience in senior transport operations or finance roles.
Strong proficiency in budgeting, financial analytics, and KPI management.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Swahili.
Relevant Bachelor's degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
Advanced computer skills and proficiency in using fleet tracking and logistics software.
Ability to work on-ground under various weather conditions and varying field environments.
Proven track record in journey management and efficient fleet route optimization.
Experience in managing cross-border logistics including documentation and security.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team of drivers.
In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, compliance standards, and asset protection protocols.
