MONITORING & EVALUATION OFFICER @ CWMAC
CWMAC is seeking a skilled Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer to join our growing team. This critical role involves designing and implementing robust M&E systems for our community conservation programs throughout Tanzania. Based in Dar es Salaam, the M&E Officer will be responsible for developing indicators, data collection tools, and reporting frameworks. They will oversee data collection processes, conduct data analysis, and produce comprehensive M&E reports. The role involves frequent travel to our member Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) across Tanzania to conduct field monitoring, provide technical support to local teams, and verify data quality. This direct engagement ensures that our M&E efforts are responsive to program needs and accurately reflect progress and challenges on the ground. Key Requirements
Expertise in designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive Monitoring & Evaluation frameworks for conservation or development projects.
Strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills, with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata) or data visualization tools.
Experience in developing indicators, data collection methodologies, tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK), and reporting mechanisms.
Ability to conduct field visits, provide technical assistance, and build capacity of local staff in M&E practices.
Excellent report writing and presentation skills, capable of communicating complex data to diverse audiences.
A solid understanding of conservation and community development programs, preferably in the Tanzanian context.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and integrity.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively to remote Wildlife Management Areas across Tanzania.
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Statistics, Environmental Science, Social Sciences, or a related quantitative field.
