SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER @ COTIVITI
Cotiviti is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team in a fully remote capacity. This role is a hands-on technical leadership position that requires daily coding while simultaneously guiding senior developers across various services. The successful candidate will be responsible for cross-team architecture specifically for Java and Spring Boot systems running within Kubernetes, setting engineering standards, and improving overall system reliability.
In addition to architectural responsibilities, the engineer will drive platform-wide initiatives such as observability, CI quality gates, and performance guardrails. A significant part of the role involves utilizing AI tools like GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, and Claude Code to accelerate design, implementation, and documentation. Candidates are expected to be immediately productive with modern tech stacks and have experience leveraging LLMs for unit test generation, legacy refactoring, and ensuring AI-generated outputs meet enterprise security and compliance standards.

Key Requirements
Hands-on technical leadership with the ability to code daily
Extensive experience in Java and Spring Boot development
Proven expertise in Kubernetes and distributed system patterns
Proficiency with CI/CD tools, specifically Jenkins
Ability to drive platform-wide initiatives like observability and quality gates
Experience mentoring senior engineers and guiding multi-service teams
Skilled in using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code for development
Ability to evaluate AI outputs for enterprise security and data privacy
Experience in refactoring legacy modules using LLMs
Strong understanding of performance guardrails and reliability engineering
