The Quality and Safety Officer at CCBRT will play a pivotal role in strengthening the organization's Quality Assurance department by monitoring, assessing, and continuously improving healthcare delivery standards. The incumbent will be instrumental in the implementation of the CCBRT Quality Improvement Plan, working closely with clinical teams to enhance patient care outcomes. This role involves active participation in nursing and midwifery audits, the promotion of KAIZEN and 5S methodologies, and the integration of quality standards into the Health Management Information System (HMIS). By fostering a culture of excellence and safety, the officer will ensure that CCBRT maintains its status as a leader in specialized healthcare services within the African region.

The position requires an individual who is not only clinically proficient but also adept at data analysis, process documentation, and capacity building. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting internal audits, managing client feedback loops, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Additionally, the officer will coordinate Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) assessments and provide training sessions to staff, ensuring that all departments remain aligned with the organization's mission to support communities and prevent lifelong disabilities through high-quality, specialized care.

Key Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in General Nursing, Midwifery, Psychiatric Nursing, or Nursing Administration Minimum of 6 years of clinical experience Demonstrated experience in Quality Assurance section within a healthcare setting Proficiency in 5S methodology, KAIZEN practices, and Total Quality Management (TQM) Ability to conduct and lead internal nursing and clinical quality audits Advanced computer literacy including HMIS familiarity Excellent proficiency in English and Kiswahili, both verbal and written Strong mentorship and coaching skills for healthcare teams Expertise in developing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Proven ability to manage clinical documentation and perform data analysis
