CHIEF ENGINEER @ COCCO LAGOON
Cocco Lagoon is looking for an experienced Chief Engineer to maintain and oversee the technical operations of our luxury resort in Pemba, Zanzibar. This role is vital for ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of the resort's infrastructure, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. You will lead the maintenance team in delivering high-quality upkeep of all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities in a challenging island environment.
The Chief Engineer will be responsible for implementing preventative maintenance programs, managing capital projects, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations. You will also manage the resort's utility consumption and environmental sustainability initiatives. Key Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
Significant experience in facility maintenance within a luxury hotel.
Knowledge of water desalination plants and power generation systems.
Strong project management skills and experience with renovations.
Proven leadership in managing maintenance and technical teams.
Full compliance with international health and safety regulations.
Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Experience with pool, spa, and specialized technical equipment.
Strong problem-solving skills, especially in remote island locations.
Ability to develop and implement rigorous preventative maintenance plans.
