China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co., Ltd. (CPP), acting as the lead contractor for the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project, is seeking a qualified Completion Engineer. This professional will play a vital role in the safe and efficient completion of wells, ensuring all operations align with international standards and specific project requirements in Tanzania. The position demands a high level of technical proficiency and field experience within the oil and gas sector. The selected engineer will be responsible for designing comprehensive well completion programs based on production and reservoir needs. Key tasks include specifying downhole tools, supervising on-site installations, and analyzing well performance data to optimize productivity. Additionally, the role requires close coordination with drilling and production teams to execute well interventions and maintain strict adherence to HSE policies throughout the pipeline's development. This is a critical role that involves managing complex field operations and providing technical oversight for one of the most significant infrastructure projects in the region.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering field.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience specifically in well completion operations within the oil and gas industry.
In-depth knowledge of completion design, including tubing, packers, valves, and sand control systems.
Hands-on experience in onshore pipeline projects or large-scale oil and gas developments.
Demonstrated ability to manage field operations and effectively troubleshoot technical issues on-site.
Excellent analytical skills combined with strong communication and technical reporting capabilities.
Familiarity with International Finance Corporation (IFC) standards and comprehensive HSE compliance.
Proficiency in using industry-standard software for well modeling and completion design.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with drilling and reservoir departments.
Willingness to work in challenging field environments and under project-driven pressure.
