TRADE FINANCE ASSISTANT MANAGER @ BANK OF AFRICA
This position within the BANK OF AFRICA, reporting to the Head of Corporate Banking, focuses on Trade Finance at an Assistant Manager level. The role involves actively supporting the Trade Finance team in critical day-to-day business development and product structuring initiatives. A key aspect of this role is to enhance efficiency by assisting in the reduction of administrative overheads, specifically by managing the Trade Finance Deal Pipeline, facilitating client follow-ups, conducting preliminary business reviews, and preparing routine reports. The Assistant Manager will also be instrumental in supporting the execution of various transactions and related activities, thereby enabling the Trade Finance team to concentrate on high-value strategic tasks and efficiently achieve departmental goals. The scope of duties for this role is comprehensive, starting with the identification of new business prospects and the cultivation of strong relationships with both prospective SME and Corporate clients, working closely with the trade finance manager and Business Teams. Responsibilities include conducting preliminary reviews of all financing and non-financing requests to ensure compliance with the Bank's eligibility criteria and developing draft indicative term sheets tailored to customer requests and the Bank's product offerings. The role also encompasses deal origination, structuring, follow-up to closure, and continuous monitoring of revenue generated from executed trade transactions. Effective monitoring of drawn Service Level Agreements (SLAs) is crucial to ensure timely and efficient handling of Trade Finance activities. Furthermore, the Assistant Manager will manage the overall pipeline of the Trade Finance unit, prepare detailed reports for informed decision-making, actively participate in industry forums, and maintain robust customer relationships to foster loyalty and maximize business opportunities.
Key Requirements
Support the Trade Finance team in executing day-to-day business development and product structuring activities.

Lead trade finance deal origination, structuring, follow up to closure, and monitoring revenue.
Effectively monitor drawn SLAs to ensure timely and efficient Trade Finance activities.
Manage the overall Pipeline of the Trade Finance unit in respective business units/segments.
Prepare and track trade finance units report for accurate decision making.
