TURBINE OPERATOR (VACANCIES: TWO (02)) @ BAGAMOYO SUGAR
As a Turbine Operator with two available positions, the successful candidate will be pivotal in operating turbines and associated auxiliary equipment in strict adherence to established operational procedures. Key responsibilities include safely initiating, synchronizing, loading, unloading, and shutting down turbine units. The role necessitates continuous monitoring of critical operational parameters such as pressure, temperature, vibration, speed, and load, with prompt and effective action taken when deviations occur. Regular inspections of turbines, generators, lubrication systems, cooling mechanisms, condensers, and other auxiliaries are essential, coupled with the immediate reporting of any abnormalities in operation or equipment to ensure continuous performance.
Furthermore, the Turbine Operator will be crucial in responding to alarms, trips, and emergencies to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity. This position requires close coordination with control room staff, boiler operators, and maintenance teams, as well as assisting with isolation, lockout/tag out procedures, and commissioning activities. Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards in the turbine and auxiliary areas is also a fundamental responsibility, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. Any other duties as may be assigned by the management will also be part of the role.
