ASSISTANT TRANSPORT OFFICER @ BAGAMOYO SUGAR
Bagamoyo Sugar is seeking a dedicated and professional Assistant Transport Officer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing project sites, ensuring the timely arrival and optimal utilization of all heavy machinery and transport trucks. This role requires a proactive approach to fleet management and a strong commitment to maintaining high operational standards across the organization.
In this position, you will play a critical role in monitoring driver performance, coordinating essential vehicle maintenance with the workshop, and upholding health and safety protocols. You will be expected to foster a culture of efficiency and safety, managing both personnel and equipment to support our ongoing production goals. The role is based in Bagamoyo, requiring a candidate who is detail-oriented and capable of managing complex logistics tasks with minimal supervision.

Key Requirements
Diploma in Logistics and Transport Management, Automobile Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of proven work experience in transport or fleet management.
Ability to supervise and maintain project site transport schedules.
Proficiency in monitoring driver and operator overtime and performance.
Capability to coordinate maintenance and breakdown repairs with technical workshops.
Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, including accident reporting.
Strong interpersonal skills to conduct training and facilitate disciplinary hearings.
Excellent record-keeping and data management abilities regarding vehicle maintenance.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in an industrial environment.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting purposes.
