ASSISTANT TRANSPORT OFFICER @ BAGAMOYO SUGAR
Bagamoyo Sugar is seeking a highly organized and proactive Assistant Transport Officer to join our team in Bagamoyo. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of project sites, ensuring the timely arrival and proper utilization of company trucks and machinery. You will play a critical role in optimizing our logistics operations by monitoring operator activities and coordinating closely with the workshop to ensure equipment maintenance and breakdown repairs are handled promptly.
In addition to technical coordination, the Assistant Transport Officer will oversee staff performance, participate in disciplinary proceedings, and uphold strict health and safety standards. This role requires a strong communicator who can manage the administrative aspects of fleet management, including maintaining daily records, verifying overtime, and providing support for new staff training. Key Requirements
Diploma in Logistics and Transport Management or Automobile Engineering
Minimum of 3 years of proven working experience in transport or logistics
Proficiency in monitoring vehicle and machinery performance
Strong ability to coordinate with workshops for maintenance and repairs
Capability to conduct health and safety inspections and accident reporting
Experience in managing staff performance and disciplinary procedures
Excellent communication skills for cross-departmental coordination
Proficiency in maintaining accurate logs and daily operational records
Ability to work under minimal supervision in a project site environment
