HR OFFICER-GENERALIST (01) @ BACKBONE RECRUITMENT
Backbone Recruitment is seeking a dedicated HR Officer-Generalist for a newly established factory in the Shinyanga Region of Tanzania. This role is pivotal for managing the complete HR operations of the facility, ranging from the initial mobilization phase through to steady-state production. The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day HR execution, ensuring that all personnel processes are streamlined and efficient within the manufacturing environment. Key tasks include lead talent sourcing, conducting inductions, and overseeing attendance integrity. You will also be tasked with investigating absenteeism, preparing monthly payroll summaries, and handling misconduct documentation. By managing probationary reviews and annual appraisals, you will directly link performance ratings to training and increments, contributing to a high-performance culture within the industrial group. Additionally, the role involves maintaining personnel files, tracking contract renewals, and preparing mandatory labor office returns to ensure full legal compliance.
Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in HRM, Public Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of professional HR experience.
At least 2 years of experience specifically in a factory, manufacturing, or industrial setting.
Registration with a relevant HR professional board is highly preferred.
Fluent proficiency in both Swahili and English, both written and spoken.
Proven ability to manage end-to-end recruitment, interviews, and vetting processes.
Experience operating attendance and time management systems.
Strong knowledge of Tanzanian labor laws regarding discipline and grievance handling.
Competency in validating attendance, overtime, and allowances for payroll purposes.
Ability to maintain comprehensive personnel files and statutory records.
