Our client, a leading logistics and transport company, is seeking to recruit a highly experienced, strategic, and commercially minded Legal Manager to lead its legal and compliance function. The role is based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and is essential for safeguarding the company's interests within the competitive logistics sector.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal leadership across the organization by ensuring regulatory compliance, managing legal risks, overseeing commercial contracts, supporting logistics and transport operations, handling litigation, and safeguarding the company's legal interests while enabling sustainable business growth. This is a critical leadership role dedicated to protecting the business and enabling growth.

Key Requirements
Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized institution
Admission to the Bar as an Advocate of the High Court
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in corporate law or legal management
Demonstrable experience in the logistics or transport industry
Strong understanding of Tanzanian regulatory and legal frameworks
Proficiency in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts
Proven ability to manage litigation and external legal counsel
Strategic mindset with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
High level of professional integrity and confidentiality
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
