PROCUREMENT OFFICER @ APEXWORK FORCE
The Procurement Officer will play a vital role in managing the supply chain for a major player in the steel roofing manufacturing sector. You will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, negotiating with vendors, and ensuring that all procurement activities align with the company's cost-efficiency and quality standards. This role requires a strategic thinker who can manage complex supplier relationships while maintaining a high level of compliance and transparency in all transactions.
Additionally, the successful candidate will oversee inventory levels and coordinate with the production team to prevent stockouts or delays in manufacturing. You will be expected to utilize ERP systems to track orders and analyze spending patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities. Strong analytical skills and a background in manufacturing-specific procurement are highly desirable for this position based in Dar es Salaam.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Proven experience in procurement within the manufacturing sector, preferably steel.
Strong understanding of strategic sourcing and vendor evaluation techniques.
Proficiency in using ERP software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Knowledge of local and international procurement laws and regulations.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
High level of integrity and professional ethics.
Analytical mindset with a focus on cost reduction and efficiency.
Certification from a recognized procurement body (e.g., PSPTB) is an added advantage.
