QUALITY OFFICER @ ALKO VINTAGES CO. LTD
ALKO VINTAGES CO. LTD is seeking a competent, committed, and detail-oriented Quality Officer to join its Quality Control and Assurance team in Dodoma, Tanzania. The selected individual will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance throughout the winemaking process. This role involves rigorous monitoring of raw materials, in-process testing, and final product evaluation to maintain the integrity of our winery operations.
As a Quality Officer, you will work closely with production, cellar, and laboratory departments to identify deviations and implement corrective actions. You will be expected to conduct regular internal audits, maintain meticulous records of quality parameters, and support the management team in upholding hygiene and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical and Processing Engineering, Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
At least 3 years of relevant work experience in quality control/assurance, preferably in a winery, beverage, or food-processing environment.
Practical knowledge of laboratory analysis including Brix, pH, acidity, alcohol content, and sulphites.
Deep knowledge of food safety, hygiene, GMP, and quality assurance procedures.
Experience or knowledge in conducting internal audits and quality inspections.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, reporting, and documentation skills.
Excellent communication skills in both English and Swahili.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel.
High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues.
