HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL (HSE) OFFICER @ AGRO SUPPLY
Agro Supply is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Officer to oversee operations at our Grain Milling Factory located in Kigumba. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing safety protocols, ensuring environmental compliance, and fostering a culture of safety among all staff members. This role involves regular site inspections, monitoring adherence to safety standards, and identifying potential hazards to prevent workplace accidents and injuries. As part of the team, you will collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure that all industrial and construction activities align with national regulations and international best practices. Beyond compliance, you will play a key role in sustainability initiatives, promoting efficient resource use and waste management within the facility. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to the safety and well-being of a growing agricultural enterprise in Uganda. The duty station for this role is Kigumba, and it requires a professional committed to building safe and sustainable operations.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field.
Professional HSE certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001.
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in construction sites, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of occupational safety, environmental regulations, and construction site safety practices.
Proven ability to conduct comprehensive risk assessments and incident investigations.
Experience in developing and delivering health and safety training programs for diverse teams.
Proficiency in monitoring and ensuring compliance with local environmental laws and standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and stakeholder engagement.
Strong analytical skills to identify potential hazards and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and specialized HSE management software.
