HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL (HSE) OFFICER @ AGRO SUPPLY
Agro Supply is seeking a dedicated and qualified Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Officer to manage safety protocols at our Grain Milling Factory located in Kigumba. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily operations to ensure that all workplace activities align with environmental regulations and safety standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering a proactive safety culture, conducting regular site inspections, and mitigating risks associated with industrial and construction processes to protect both employees and the environment. As part of the Agro Supply team, you will implement comprehensive health and safety management systems, including ISO standards, to maintain a safe working environment. The position requires a professional who can lead training sessions, manage emergency response plans, and collaborate with various departments to achieve sustainability goals. Based in Kigumba on a full-time basis, this role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the safety and operational excellence of a growing grain milling facility in Uganda.
Key Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field
Professional HSE certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in construction sites, industrial, or infrastructure projects
Strong knowledge of occupational safety, environmental regulations, and construction site safety practices
Ability to conduct comprehensive risk assessments and implement hazard control measures
Experience in performing incident investigations and generating detailed safety reports
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to promote a strong safety culture
Proficiency in monitoring and ensuring compliance with Ugandan environmental laws
Competence in conducting regular internal safety audits and site inspections
Strong understanding of emergency response planning and industrial safety protocols
