The successful candidate will be pivotal in managing the company's daily accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy and regulatory compliance. Key responsibilities will include the meticulous preparation of financial statements and comprehensive reports, alongside diligent management of accounts payable and receivable. The Accountant will also be tasked with monitoring cash flow, conducting bank reconciliations, and ensuring strict adherence to all local tax and financial regulations. Furthermore, the role involves providing crucial support for budgeting and forecasting activities, coordinating effectively with auditors, and engaging with internal stakeholders to maintain robust financial records and controls. Key Requirements
Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and accounting principles (e.g., IFRS/GAAP).
Proficiency in using ERP systems and advanced skills in MS Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
Demonstrable experience with tax compliance procedures and statutory reporting requirements.
Exposure to the East Africa market dynamics and financial regulations is a significant advantage.
Excellent communication and strong analytical skills, with the ability to present complex financial data clearly.
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
Proven work experience as an Accountant, ideally within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional organizational skills coupled with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is highly desirable.
