ENVIRONMENTAL SCHOOL COORDINATOR @ AFRICRAFT NGO
AfriCraft NGO is seeking a passionate and organised School Environmental Support Coordinator to support the implementation of an environmental education project across primary schools in Zanzibar. The successful candidate will work closely with students, teachers, local authorities, and the organisation to promote sustainable waste management practices, environmental awareness, and practical recycling activities throughout various school locations in the Zanzibar region.
The role involves coordinating waste management activities, facilitating environmental workshops, and mentoring student-led environmental clubs. You will be responsible for planning educational sessions, managing project data, and ensuring all community engagement activities are conducted safely in accordance with established child safeguarding policies. The position requires a proactive individual who can effectively communicate with school management and local stakeholders to drive long-term sustainable behaviour change among youth.

Key Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Education, Community Development, or a related field.
Proven experience in community engagement or environmental education projects.
Professional proficiency in English and Kiswahili (written and spoken).
Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
Excellent organisational and reporting abilities.
Ability to work independently while coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
Experience in working with schools, teachers, or youth groups.
Understanding of recycling techniques and sustainable waste management.
Basic proficiency in data collection and statistical reporting.
Commitment to child safeguarding policies and ethical community work.
