EXECUTIVE CHEF @ AFRICAWORK
AfricaWork is currently recruiting a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef for a prestigious client within the restaurant industry located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This role is specifically designed for an expatriate profile with a deep background in luxury hospitality and high-end fine dining environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the culinary vision and leading all back-of-house operations to establish the venue as the premier fine dining destination in the region.
The primary focus of this position includes designing and executing a sophisticated European–Asian fusion culinary program while maintaining rigorous global fine dining standards. Beyond the kitchen, the Executive Chef will be tasked with building and training a high-performance kitchen brigade, managing operational food costs with precision, and collaborating on innovative lounge and bar food concepts. Key Requirements
Minimum 5+ years experience in luxury hospitality environments.
Minimum 3 years as Executive Chef or Head Chef in a fine dining setting.
Demonstrated expertise in Classical French culinary techniques.
Proficiency in Modern European gastronomy and culinary trends.
Advanced Japanese precision and expert knife mastery skills.
Strong understanding of Asian flavor layering and umami architecture.
Expertise in contemporary plating aesthetics and artistic food presentation.
Ability to design and execute a refined European–Asian fusion culinary program.
Proven leadership skills to build, mentor, and train a high-performance kitchen brigade.
Establishment of operational systems aligned with global fine dining benchmarks.
Exceptional food cost discipline and financial management within the kitchen.
Willingness to relocate as an expatriate profile to Tanzania.
