PROTECTION OFFICERS (6) @ AFRICAN WOMEN AND YOUTH ACTION FOR DEVELOPMENT (AWYAD)
The Protection Officer will be responsible for overseeing and implementing protection activities across various project sites in Uganda. This includes monitoring protection risks, providing technical support to field teams, and ensuring that all interventions align with international humanitarian standards. You will work closely with community leaders and other stakeholders to identify vulnerable individuals and provide appropriate support or referrals.
Additionally, the role involves reporting on protection trends and contributing to the development of protection strategies within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human rights and experience working in refugee or displaced person contexts. Locations for this position are spread across multiple project areas in Uganda as designated by the organization.

Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Rights, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years experience in protection-related programming within an NGO setting.
Proficiency in case management principles and procedures.
Strong understanding of international human rights and humanitarian standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for community engagement.
Ability to work effectively in multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams.
Experience in conducting protection monitoring and reporting.
Strong analytical skills for identifying protection risks and trends.
Fluency in English and local languages spoken in Uganda.
Proficiency in MS Office applications and data management tools.
