GBV CASE WORKERS (9) @ AFRICAN WOMEN AND YOUTH ACTION FOR DEVELOPMENT (AWYAD)
The GBV Case Worker is responsible for providing high-quality, survivor-centered support to individuals affected by gender-based violence. This includes intake, assessment, counseling, and providing referrals to legal, medical, and psychosocial services. The role aims to empower survivors and ensure they receive comprehensive care in a safe and confidential environment across Uganda.
Beyond individual support, you will be involved in community outreach and sensitization programs aimed at preventing GBV and promoting gender equality. You will collaborate with health facilities and police units to streamline the referral pathway. The candidate must be dedicated to the protection of women and youth and adhere to strict ethical standards in all interactions.

Key Requirements
University degree in Gender Studies, Social Work, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 2 years experience in Gender-Based Violence (GBV) case management.
Deep understanding of the survivor-centered approach and ethical principles.
Familiarity with national and international GBV guidelines and protocols.
Strong empathy and active listening skills for supporting survivors.
Experience in facilitating focus group discussions and community awareness sessions.
Proficiency in data entry and use of GBVIMS (GBV Information Management System).
Ability to work under pressure in challenging and sensitive environments.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Knowledge of local languages in Uganda is a significant advantage.
