ABS International is currently seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Dairy Farm Manager / Supervisor to join a modern livestock farming operation in Tanzania. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a significant herd consisting of 200 dairy cows and 150 goats and sheep. This role requires a hands-on approach to daily farm operations, ensuring that the highest standards of animal welfare and productivity are met within a dynamic international work environment. The position offers an attractive salary package of USD 1000 – 1200 per month, along with benefits including an employment visa, air tickets, and accommodation. The role is based in Tanzania, providing a unique opportunity for career growth in the African agricultural sector.

The responsibilities include managing all aspects of livestock care, from feeding and nutrition formulation to monitoring animal health through vaccinations and veterinary supervision. The manager will also oversee milk production, maintain comprehensive farm records, and coordinate the procurement of necessary supplies like medicines and feed. In addition to technical tasks, the role involves supervising and training a team of farm workers to ensure smooth daily activities and the implementation of sustainable farming practices. Candidates must be prepared to implement modern dairy farming techniques and ensure proper hygiene and quality standards across all livestock productivity areas.

Key Requirements

Degree or Diploma in Veterinary Science, Dairy Science, or Animal Husbandry. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in dairy or livestock farm management. Comprehensive knowledge of dairy production, livestock health, and breeding programs. Proven experience in feed formulation and nutritional planning for cattle and small ruminants. Strong leadership and team management skills to supervise and train farm workers. Ability to maintain detailed and accurate farm records, inventory, and production reports. In-depth understanding of hygiene, animal welfare, and quality standards for milk production. Previous experience working in Africa or similar agricultural environments is highly preferred. Proficiency in implementing modern and sustainable dairy farming practices. Excellent coordination skills for the procurement of medicines, feed, and farm supplies. Ability to monitor and manage animal health, vaccinations, and veterinary care programs. Strong organizational skills to oversee dairy cows, goats, and sheep operations efficiently.
