Abantu Hotel is seeking a Houseman to join our housekeeping department in Tanzania. Our hospitality group focuses on African values and family-centered service, and we require a hard-working individual to maintain public areas and support our cleaning staff. The Houseman's duties include deep cleaning carpets, moving furniture, and ensuring all common areas like lobbies and hallways are pristine.
You will also assist the housekeeping team with heavier tasks and respond to guest requests for items like extra pillows or towels. This role is fundamental to the upkeep of our hotels and serviced apartments, ensuring a seamless experience for every guest that walks through our doors.

Key Requirements
Prior experience in a houseman or general maintenance role within a hotel.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and move furniture as needed.
Experience using industrial cleaning equipment such as floor buffers.
Strong work ethic and ability to handle physically demanding tasks.
Good communication skills to coordinate with the housekeeping team.
Proactive approach to maintaining the cleanliness of public areas.
Willingness to assist guests with luggage or room requests.
Ability to follow a detailed checklist for daily tasks.
Knowledge of safety procedures for handling chemicals and equipment.
Reliability and punctuality in following shift schedules.
