Abantu Hotel is seeking a skilled Barman to join our hospitality team in Tanzania. We are a hospitality group offering hotels, serviced apartments, and BnBs rooted in African values of warmth, hospitality, and family-centered service. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving beverages, maintaining a clean bar area, and ensuring guests have an exceptional experience. Responsibilities include managing stock levels, processing payments, and interacting with patrons in a professional manner.
You will work closely with the food and beverage team to maintain the standards of our establishment and uphold the reputation of the Abantu brand. The role requires a candidate who can blend professional mixology skills with the warm, welcoming atmosphere we provide to our guests. Key Requirements
Proven experience as a Barman or Bartender in a hotel or restaurant setting.
Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with guests.
Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked, and clean at all times.
Proficiency in handling cash and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Knowledge of various alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy crates.
Commitment to high standards of hygiene and safety.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
