The GCP DevOps Lead/Engineer role involves leading the implementation and optimization of cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. You will be responsible for managing production environments, ensuring high availability, and automating workflows using Terraform and various scripting languages like Python or Bash. This position requires a hybrid work schedule in Austin, TX, working four days a week from the client's office (Monday through Thursday). The successful candidate will collaborate closely with development and infrastructure teams to streamline delivery processes and enhance system reliability. Key responsibilities include managing Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters, overseeing Cloud Storage and Cloud SQL databases, and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines. Preferred candidates will hold a Google Cloud Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer certification and demonstrate a track record of successfully delivering at least three to four complex production projects using GCP DevOps tools.

Key Requirements

5 to 8 years of strong hands-on experience in GCP DevOps. Should have delivered at least 3 to 4 production projects using GCP DevOps. Strong experience with GCP services: Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, and Cloud SQL. Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go for automation scripting. Expert knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, specifically Terraform. Expertise in Git, Docker, and CI/CD tools for continuous integration and deployment. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with development and infrastructure teams. Must be able to work in a hybrid model in Austin, TX (4 days onsite). Knowledge of cloud security and networking principles within GCP. Google Cloud - Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer certification is highly preferred.
