The HR Manager will join Usangu Logistics (T) Ltd. in Tabata, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, taking on a critical leadership role to develop and execute comprehensive HR strategies aligned with business goals. Key responsibilities include strategic HR leadership, managing workforce planning, implementing succession plans, and leading the full recruitment and onboarding cycle, particularly for drivers and logistics personnel. The role demands overseeing performance management systems, ensuring strict compliance with Tanzanian labor laws, road safety regulations, and managing all HR documentation and reporting.This position also requires strong oversight of payroll processing, benefits administration, and statutory deductions, including driver-specific allowances. A vital component of the role involves fostering positive employee relations by addressing grievances, mediating conflicts, promoting employee welfare, and managing disciplinary actions. The HR Manager is also responsible for health and safety protocols, wellness programs, and maintaining accurate employee records and contracts.
Requirements:
  • Work experience: 4-6 years in Human Resources.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field (Master's degree is advantageous).
  • Proven HR experience, ideally within the logistics or transport industry.
  • Deep knowledge and practical application of Tanzanian labor law.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated high integrity and ability to handle sensitive employee and company data.
  • Must be people-oriented and focused on achieving measurable results.
  • Experience in developing and implementing HR strategies, including workforce and succession planning.
  • Ability to lead recruitment and onboarding processes for diverse staff, including drivers and logistics personnel.
