The UONGOZI Institute, a regional leadership development hub operating under the Office of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, is seeking an ICT Intern. This role is crucial for supporting the provision of effective ICT solutions, including hardware, software, and other systems maintenance, and reports directly to the Senior ICT Officer. The successful candidate will be engaged for up to one year, based on performance and institutional needs, and should be prepared for potential travel assignments.

Key responsibilities include responding to user requests, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, assisting with installations and configuration updates, and monitoring backup systems for data security. The intern will also help maintain inventory records and documentation for ICT equipment and assist users in determining appropriate software solutions. The Institute is dedicated to inspiring African leaders and promoting sustainable development through executive education, policy dialogues, research, and technical support.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related ICT field.
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Swahili.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Experience assisting with installation, configuration, and updating of operating systems and software applications.
  • Knowledge of data security principles and monitoring backup systems.
  • Ability to assist in maintaining inventory records and documentation for ICT equipment.
  • Foundational understanding of ICT infrastructure set-up and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated willingness to travel for assignments as required.
  • Volunteering experience is preferred.
