ICT INTERN @ UONGOZI INSTITUTE
The UONGOZI Institute, a regional leadership development hub under the Office of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, is offering an Internship Opportunity for an ICT Intern. This role is crucial for supporting the provision of effective ICT solutions, including hardware, software, and system maintenance, and involves reporting directly to the Senior ICT Officer. The intern will be responsible for responding to user service requests, performing diagnostics, and actively assisting in the development and implementation of effective IT solutions, with some assignments potentially requiring travel. The duration of the engagement is up to one year, based on performance and institutional needs. This position is ideal for a proactive individual looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic public sector environment, focusing on enhancing user experience and maintaining robust IT infrastructure.
The primary responsibilities include assisting with the installation, configuration, and updating of operating systems and applications, monitoring data security protocols, and maintaining accurate inventory records of ICT equipment. The Intern will also play a key role in the physical setup of ICT infrastructure and assisting users in determining appropriate software solutions to meet their needs. Candidates must possess a strong foundation in IT theory, excellent communication skills in both English and Swahili, and a commitment to supporting the institute’s mission of inspiring African leaders for sustainable development.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or any other ICT-related field
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Swahili
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues effectively
- Experience or familiarity with monitoring backup systems and data security procedures
- Proficiency in installing, configuring, and updating operating systems and software applications
- Ability to maintain accurate inventory records and documentation for ICT equipment
- Experience assisting users and developing effective ICT solutions
- Demonstrated proactive problem-solving skills for daily technical challenges
- Volunteering experience is preferred
