RESEARCH ASSISTANT @ TANZMED
This six-month study seeks a dedicated Research Assistant to join the TanzMED-MUHAS team validating AI-powered remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) technology for blood pressure monitoring. The role involves critical fieldwork in both urban and rural settings, focusing on recruiting study participants, obtaining informed consent, and accurately measuring blood pressure using both traditional cuff and novel rPPG technologies.
The Research Assistant will be responsible for meticulously collecting and recording research data using provided smartphones or tablets, ensuring high data integrity throughout the study duration. Preference will be given to candidates who are licensed Clinical Officers or Registered Nurses, demonstrating proficiency in clinical procedures and possessing strong ethical standards required for handling patient data and conducting community health research.

Requirements:
- Possess a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Clinical Medicine, or a related health science field.
- Hold valid registration with a Tanzanian regulatory authority (e.g., Nursing and Midwifery Council or Medical Council).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience performing duties in clinical or community health settings.
- Ability to effectively recruit and screen study participants according to protocol criteria.
- Proficiency in obtaining and documenting informed consent from study participants.
- Capability to accurately measure blood pressure using both standard cuff devices and rPPG technology.
- Skill in collecting and recording complex research data meticulously via smartphones and tablets.
- Commitment to completing the required study-specific training program successfully.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary for effective participant engagement.
- Ability to work efficiently and adapt to field conditions in both urban and rural settings.
- Adherence to strict ethical research practices, including maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Prioritization given to candidates who are licensed Clinical Officers or Registered Nurses.
