LEAD WELDING ENGINEER @ NES FIRCROFT
This urgent opening is for a highly experienced Lead Welding Engineer based in Singapore, responsible for overseeing all welding activities and ensuring compliance with project specifications and international codes. The role demands 10-15 years of experience, with mandatory involvement in the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and detailed engineering phases of major projects. Key responsibilities include developing and qualifying WPS/PQR, mentoring junior staff, and integrating welding quality control measures across multidisciplinary teams.The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree and demonstrate exceptional technical expertise in advanced welding techniques and materials science. This senior position requires proven leadership capability, meticulous attention to detail regarding QA/QC protocols, and strong collaboration skills to interface effectively with procurement, construction, and inspection teams to deliver high-quality project results.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgy, or related field.
- 10–15 years of experience in heavy industry or EPC projects.
- Mandatory experience in FEED and detailed engineering phases.
- Proven leadership experience managing a team of welding specialists.
- Expertise in all major welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SAW).
- Thorough knowledge of international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, AWS).
- Experience qualifying and reviewing Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS/PQR).
- Strong background in non-destructive testing (NDT) methodologies.
- Ability to coordinate with Procurement QA/QC teams.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
