This role requires a dedicated Logistics and Customs Specialist to manage all aspects of import and export operations within Tanzania, specifically based in Dar es Salaam. The specialist will be responsible for tracking logistics progress, preparing and verifying import/export documents for accuracy, and ensuring timely resolution of any irregularities. A critical part of the job involves liaising with local logistics clearance service providers, ports, shipping agents, and customs authorities to follow up on clearance procedures.

The successful candidate will also monitor cargo pickup and transportation to guarantee safe and timely delivery to designated locations. Furthermore, they will handle the settlement of import and export related fees, verifying invoices and initiating payment processes. Finally, meticulous organization and archiving of all customs clearance and logistics documentation are necessary to ensure the completeness and traceability of business records.
Requirements:
  • Equivalent or higher educational qualifications from a Chinese university with a major in international trade or logistics.
  • Possess some experience in import clearance and logistics (e.g., familiarity with transportation documents and customs clearance forms).
  • Familiarity with local customs regulations, tax policies, and requirements for import/export documentation.
  • Fluency in English is desirable as a working language.
  • Ability to proficiently operate computers and comply with instructions from supervisors.
  • Strong organizational and meticulous archiving skills to ensure completeness and traceability of business records.
  • Proven ability to liaise effectively with external authorities, including ports, shipping agents, testing institutions, and customs.
  • Experience in handling fee settlement, invoice verification, and payment initiation for import/export transactions.
  • Ability to promptly identify and follow up on the resolution of irregularities in logistics progress or documentation.
  • In-depth understanding of tracking cargo progress and ensuring safe and timely delivery.
