We are seeking a highly proactive and seasoned Senior Human Resources Officer to oversee and manage critical plant-level HR operations within the manufacturing industry in Tanzania. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting the HR Manager by coordinating daily HR activities, ensuring effective implementation of Human Capital initiatives, and maintaining strict adherence to HR policies, SOPs, and national labour laws. This role demands strong expertise in HR operations, compliance management, detailed reporting, and hands-on experience gained specifically within a fast-paced plant or industrial environment.

Key responsibilities include monitoring vital HR indices such as recruitment, attendance, turnover, and training. The Senior HR Officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate employee records and HR data, managing biometric attendance, handling employee queries, and administering benefits including medical claims and leave. Furthermore, the role involves crucial employee relations duties such as assisting in disciplinary hearings, investigations, grievance resolution, and conducting exit and new employee orientations, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment by supporting health, safety, and housekeeping standards.
Requirements:
  • Must have 6+ years of experience, specifically in a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Coordinate and supervise day-to-day HR activities at the plant level.
  • Monitor and analyze key HR indices including recruitment, attendance, leave, performance, turnover, and training.
  • Ensure comprehensive compliance with HR policies, SOPs, labour laws, and health & safety standards.
  • Maintain meticulous employee records, HR files, and accurate HR data.
  • Manage daily biometric attendance extraction and implement corrective actions for absenteeism and lateness.
  • Handle employee queries related to HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
  • Administer employee benefits, including processing medical claims, insurance, and leave.
  • Assist in disciplinary hearings, complex investigations, and grievance handling.
  • Conduct exit interviews, retirement interviews, and comprehensive new employee orientations.
  • Coordinate with contractors, supervise casual employees, and verify contractor claims.
  • Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual HR & MIS reports.
