This role seeks a proactive and experienced Senior Human Resources Officer to manage and support all plant-level HR operations within the FMCG industry in Tanzania. The successful candidate will be pivotal in ensuring the effective implementation of Human Capital initiatives, maintaining compliance with labour laws and organizational policies, and monitoring critical HR indices like recruitment, attendance, performance, and turnover. A strong operational background (6+ years) in a manufacturing or plant setting is essential for this position.

Key responsibilities include coordinating daily HR activities, ensuring accurate maintenance of HR data and employee records, handling employee queries, and administering benefits. Furthermore, the role involves assisting with disciplinary hearings and grievance handling, preparing comprehensive daily, weekly, and annual HR & MIS reports, and promoting robust health and safety standards throughout the plant.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Proven expertise in coordinating and supervising plant-level HR operations and day-to-day activities.
  • Strong knowledge of Tanzanian labour laws, HR policies, SOPs, and compliance standards.
  • Ability to monitor and analyze key HR metrics (recruitment, attendance, turnover, performance, training).
  • Experience managing employee relations, including disciplinary hearings, investigations, and grievance handling.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate employee records, HR data, and generating detailed HR/MIS reports.
  • Experience handling biometric attendance monitoring, benefits administration (medical claims, insurance, leave), and new employee orientation processes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting health, safety, and housekeeping standards at the plant level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for handling employee queries and providing guidance.
  • Must be proactive and experienced in implementing Human Capital initiatives.
