VEHICLE DISPATCH & INFORMATION SUPERVISOR @ GEORGE KUMBURU
This role requires an urgent and experienced Vehicle Dispatch & Information Supervisor to manage logistics operations, particularly focusing on vehicle sourcing, dispatching, and performance monitoring within a manufacturing/logistics environment. Key responsibilities include proactively sourcing vehicles from trusted transporter agencies, planning and scheduling allocations for timely distribution, and supervising dispatch activities across multiple routes. The supervisor will also be responsible for monitoring driver performance, tracking fuel consumption for optimization, and ensuring full compliance with company transport policies and road safety regulations.
The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain, or a related field, and a minimum of 3 years of experience in dispatch/fleet coordination, preferably in the FMCG or manufacturing sector. Expertise in negotiating with third-party logistics providers and familiarity with fleet tracking systems are essential. We are seeking a proactive problem-solver with strong organizational skills who can thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced setting. This position is located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain, or a related field is required.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in dispatch/fleet coordination, preferably within the manufacturing or FMCG industry.
- Proven ability to source and negotiate effectively with transporter agencies and third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
- Familiarity with fleet tracking systems, dispatch software, and reporting tools.
- Strong organizational, time management, and effective communication skills.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) for record keeping and reporting.
- Knowledge of local transport regulations and optimal routing best practices.
- Ability to proactively source and allocate vehicles efficiently to meet daily dispatch needs.
- Experience working in high-volume, fast-paced industrial or manufacturing logistics settings.
- Accountability for performance metrics, including monitoring fuel usage and ensuring full adherence to road safety regulations.
