We are actively seeking an experienced Desktop Support L1 Engineer for an essential temporary backfill position based strictly on-site in Schiedam, Netherlands. This role is crucial for maintaining smooth day-to-day IT operations by providing immediate, first-level end-user support. The ideal candidate will be responsible for resolving common technical issues, managing help desk tickets, and ensuring end-user computing efficiency within the corporate environment.

Key responsibilities include hands-on troubleshooting of hardware (PCs, laptops, printers) and software (Windows OS, MS Office), managing user access through onboarding and offboarding procedures, and performing basic network diagnostics. Crucially, mandatory B1 level Dutch language proficiency is required to effectively communicate with local staff, along with strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in Desktop / EUC L1 Support
  • Dutch language proficiency – B1 level (mandatory)
  • Good understanding of Windows OS and corporate IT environments
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently in an on-site role
  • Experience with L1 desktop/EUC support for end users
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and peripheral issues (PCs, laptops, printers, etc.)
  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic application support
