CHINESE CUISINE CHEF @ BACKBONE
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Chinese Cuisine Chef to lead our kitchen operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting authentic Chinese dishes according to established standards. This role requires extensive expertise in various Chinese regional cuisines and the ability to manage kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, consistency, and hygiene are maintained at the highest level. Key duties include supervising junior kitchen staff, managing inventory, optimizing food costs, and collaborating on menu development. The ideal candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our patrons in Tanzania.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Chef specializing in authentic Chinese cuisine (Wok, Dim Sum, Szechuan, Cantonese).
- In-depth knowledge of Chinese cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and sanitation standards.
- Ability to manage kitchen staff and oversee food preparation operations.
- Strong creative skills for developing new menu items and specials.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities under pressure.
- Knowledge of inventory management and cost control procedures.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Relevant culinary degree or professional certification is preferred.
- Experience working in a high-volume restaurant setting.
- Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management.
